Home Maternity Test – Be really sure!

Home Maternity Test Dear Mom, you went through an IVF procedure? You suspect that your baby was accidentally replaced with another baby at the hospital? Maybe you are involved in an adoption case, whether you are the mother or an offspring and now you want to find the truth?

If there is doubt, there is only one test that lets you know with absolute certainty whether your child is really yours. This test is called a DNA Maternity test. DNA maternity tests will determine if you are the biological mother.

The popular TV series "Switched at Birth" is not entirely fictional. Such cases happen every day and everywhere. This can happen because of inattention by a doctor or a nurse, especially, when infants born at the same time are similar in appearance, or two mothers have the same name.

There are also known cases in which a child with a genetic disease was replaced by a healthy child after the hospital staff received a bribe from the parents. Meanwhile, the mother is recovering while under the influence of drugs and it not always possible to notice that something is wrong. The families live a lifetime without disclosing the switch. Sometimes parents discover the truth after a few years and sometimes only after decades. In the case of IVF treatments these errors are more likely to occur because there is no visible baby, just two frozen tubes in a special freezer.

Many mothers who leave the hospital after giving birth to a baby are secretly concerned that the baby they took home might not be their biological child. Sometimes it is a mild suspicion because the baby does not physically resemble the parents, but at times, there is substantial reason for this suspicion especially after IVF treatments.

Peace of Mind

The maternity test is similar to the paternity test; hence, the same method is used to encode a cell from the DNA and test the genetic relationship between the mother and child and find out if the child shares half of the genetic material of the mother.

It is important to know that you have a discreet option available to you. The test is discreet and only you will get the result. If the answer is positive, you can relax and know that everything is all right. However, if the answer is negative, it does not mean that you have to give up the child that you lovingly raised. Nevertheless, you can ask for financial compensation from the hospital that made the mistake. If your child suffers from a genetic disease and expensive drugs are needed, the compensation may save your child's life.

Home Maternity Test

The goal is to know the truth and banish the doubts; there is no need to involve lawyers and the court. No one has to know about the test and no one will get the results except you. Following the technological development in the field of DNA, you have access to a simple fast and discreet test by paying a small fee and getting an answer to the question that is troubling you: am I the child's biological mother?

In the past, maternity tests were performed using blood tests. Today, by gently rubbing a cotton swab on the inside cheek of the mouth. Such sampling is sufficient to encode a cell from the DNA and test the genetic relationship between the two samples. Each person receives 50% of the genetic material from the father and 50% from the mother. So if the result is positive, it is imperative that each genetic sequence markers of the mother and child will be the same, 50%. To obtain a negative result, it is enough if two markers does not match, when in fact, if this is the case more than two of the markers will not match.

Note: This is a private maternity test performed in the professional laboratory of EasyDNA and supervised by the authorities in accordance with ISO 17025 standards and NATA. According to the standards reviewing 16 genetic markers is sufficient, but at EasyDNA, we test 21 genetic markers of each sample to obtain the highest probability and the most accurate results. The test is for your personal information. If you choose the ‘at-home’ maternity test, the DNA results will have no court validity and thus cannot be used for legal purposes. Home tests are informative DNA tests of which results are used for peace of mind or just for reassurance. If there are legal requirement, for instance, immigration procedures, or custody disputes, all tested parties’ names as shown on their IDs presented at specimen collection.

Accuracy of a Home Maternity Test and the probability of the results

Our home maternity test is an extremely accurate, and will provide you with 100% accuracy. All tests are performed using 21 genetic markers to guarantee maximum accuracy. If the laboratory was unable to identify the markers, we will ask you to send new samples. In practice, this rarely happens.

The probability of a positive result is greater than 99.99%. If the alleged mother is in fact the true biological mother of the child, then all 21 genetic markers will match between the two profiles. If it's possible to attach a sample of the father (optional), the probability will be higher than 99.9999%.

The level of probability of a negative result is 100%. This means that the genetic markers don't correlate between the child and the woman being tested. A known fact is that each person gets half the genetic DNA from father and half from the mother. When there is a discrepancy in some of the markers, it is impossible to establish a match between the mother and baby. If the result is negative the probability of mother being the biological mother is 0%.

7. The Laboratory report will be signed by a doctor – you'll have a detailed report of the various markers with the marker name (for example D3S1358), the values obtained in the child's mapping (for example 15,17) and with the potential mother (for example 16,17). In the final summary of the maternity test, the probability is over 99.99% (positive), or 0% (negative). The report is a PDF digitally signed document with the names of the participants, as noted in the form and on the envelope. The report has a date and signature of the laboratory doctor who takes responsibility for reviewing the process and the result.
